Twin Lakes Camp Resort, DeFuniak Springs, FL

November 1st we spent the night at Twin Lakes Camp Resort in Defuniak Springs, FL. $51.22 was the Good Sams rate for a one night stay. We needed to break up the long drive between Slidell, LA and Naples, FL which is our next destination.  Chad found this lovely resort using the Allstays App and if you don’t want to purchase the app, there is Allstays.com that you can use.  We got there just as the sun was going down which made for some wonderful pictures. We also were getting packed up at sunrise the next morning and got more wonderful photos.  We really wished we would have had more time to enjoy this resort. The sites were well designed because they had the water & electric hook up on either side in case you were a coach that just wanted to pull straight in or for a coach, trailer or 5th wheel that needed to back in.  There are 12 pull thru sites, a couple of glamping sites, there are 23 back in sites along the Holly Lake side (14 of which are actually lake side) and there are 20 back in sites along the King Lake side (17 of which are actually lake side). There are 5 cabin suites and 1 lake house cabin.  The amenities include pool, laundry, bathhouse and activity center (billiards, board games, book exchange, TV, puzzles, lawn bowling, lawn scrabble, badminton, pickle ball, lawn croquet, frisbee & football), Wifi, Cable, A’Lure Boutique & Resort store, fishing, 2 boat ramps, boat rentals (Ultra Skiff, Twin Troller, 2 Pondtoons, 2 tandem kayaks  and 1 triple kayak). We didn’t have a chance to check out any of the amenities, but based on the RV sites alone and the grounds we know that everything is clean and well taken care of. The area is gated and has a coded pad entry because there is no outside us of this area unless you are a guest. The resort was very quiet and it was almost completely full upon arrival.

Downside: besides not staying long enough to enjoy it fully? No BBQ. 🙂
