On Tuesday, October 29th we departed early to park in the Cracker Barrel parking lot in Texarkana so that Chad would have a good internet connection for a webinar he had to do for work.
For the night we are staying at KOC Kampground, site #55, in New Iberia, Louisiana and it is a Good Sam’s Park. $32.83 is the cost for 1 night . The amenities are Water, Sewer, Electric, 30 or 50 Amps, Shaded Sites, Pavilion, Stocked Fishing Pond, Cable TV, Clean Bathhouse with Hot Showers, Clean Bathrooms, Laundromat, Mailbox, Pool, Playground, Wireless Internet, 24/7 Available Campsite Host & Store. There are 2 laundry areas and they both contain 3 washers & 3 dryers, cost is $1.50 each. One of the washing machines was Out of Order. There is no change machine in either of the laundry areas but I was able to get quarters from the office. The bathhouse has 3 showers and 3 bathroom stalls. The downside to the shower are is that there is nowhere to dress in private. There are full hookup sites. There is only one dumpster area on site. It was a nice quiet place to stay and the grounds seemed to be very well cared for. Our choice to stay here was based on the fact that Chad had a customer visit in the area on Wednesday morning.
After dinner we needed something sweet and we were unable to find a good dessert place with the help of Yelp so we decided to go get ice cream from the grocery store. We went to Super 1 and got Salted Caramel Cookie from the Blue Bell Ice Cream company. It was very good and had lots of cookie pieces throughout it.
